Friday Favorites Time!!

Favorite Beauty Product: Alterna Cavier Replenishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

My friend recommended this shampoo and conditioner and I have been loving it! Without having to use a ton of the product, my hair felt silky and looked shinier after one use. It’s a bit expensive, but in my opinion, totally worth it!

Favorite Healthy Treat: Cinnamon Vanilla Breakfast Protein Bites

Scott started masters swim last week and I remember how that felt…you are literally hungry all day long. In an effort to prevent him from eating his arm while out and about for work, I made these bad boys for him to take along with him as an emergency snack. So simple to make and so delicious!

Favorite Recipe: Chicken Apple Sweet Potato and Brussels Sprouts Skillet

This recipe features some popular fall ingredients—sweet potatoes, apples, brussels sprouts plus a year round ingredient…bacon 😉 This recipe gave us lots of leftovers to eat throughout the week and heated up really well!

Favorite Fashion Item: Patagonia Bivy Down Hooded Vest

I spotted this vest while walking around Denver a few weeks ago and fell in love. I didn’t necessarily have room in my suitcase for it, so I ordered it online and it was delivered a couple of days ago just in time for some cooler temps!

Favorite Piece of Advice: When at a crossroads—don’t fight it. Let the detour happen. Something GREAT is waiting for you at the end of the road.

It’s been three weeks since any form of exercise and while I’m going a little batty, I am trying my best to embrace the healing process. Only five more weeks to go before I can hopefully start up an exercise program!

Favorite Health Supplement: Great Lakes Collagen

I love this stuff! Collagen helps build connective hair, skin and nails and aids in joint support. The proteins in gelatin help keep bones strong and increase the body’s bone mineral density which leads to less inflammation and protection against structural diseases like arthritis and osteoporosis. The gelatin also helps keep tendons and ligaments more elastic as the body ages by contributing to the production of cartilage. It easily dissolves in pretty much anything and I typically stir it into my morning coffee or smoothie. It’s flavorless, it digests easily and has a good amount of protein too!

Favorite Restaurant: Grampa’s Pizzeria

Scott and I went to Grampa’s pizzeria last night and agreed it was one of the best pizzas we have ever had in our lives. I cannot believe we have never been there before, and bonus points for the amazing cocktail lounge right next door. We will be back to both very soon!
