Our Favorite Places Near St. Pete Beach, Florida

We’re back from beautiful sunny Florida! Wisconsin greeted us with a few inches of snow which is always (less than) wonderful but it is still indeed March in the Midwest I suppose.

Scott won a week-long trip to Orlando, FL through his work so we decided to fly out a few days early and travel St. Pete Beach with his cousin and fiance. It was a short trip, but we made the most of it, checking out lots of local restaurants and bars. We stayed at a cute beachfront hotel called the Postcard Inn which had everything from a beach bar, live music daily, volleyball, cabanas and even a few restaurants too!

Throughout our stay, our favorite spots included:

  • Caddy’s on the Beach
  • With live music 7 days a week and tables right on the beach, you can’t go wrong. The menu consists of mostly barbecue and seafood and the drinks were pretty cheap too! It was cloudy when we ate dinner there, but I bet it would be a great place for a sunset!

  • Ricky T’s Bar and Grille
  • Ricky T’s is a restaurant and bar featuring breakfast, lunch, and dinner and live nightly entertainment. We only stayed for drinks, but the atmosphere on the patio was fun!
  • Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach
  • Although I didn’t test out their famous sloppy joe, the fish tacos were out of this world! The views from the outside patio and bar are beautiful and the ice-cream isn’t bad either πŸ™‚

  • The Toasted Monkey
  • Jimmy B’s Beach Bar
  • Both of these bars were located next to each other right on the beach within walking distance from The Postcard Inn with live bands and delicious drinks– a recipe for a very fun (and late) night!

  5. That ice cream looks amazing!

  6. Sounds like you had lots of fun! I don’t think I’ve been to St. Pete’s beach. We drove through Florida many years ago and stopped in several places but don’t remember them all. I do know we went to Pensacola which was much nicer than I thought it was going to be and actually liked it more than Miami!

    • I’ve never been to Miami and I am not sure if I would like it based off of other peoples reviews!

  7. Just reading about the beach makes me happy. Looks like a great time! I woke up to a beautiful day today. 73 and Sunny, but rain is on the way for the next few days! Hang in there. March is almost over!

  8. Hi Katie! Yay for St. Pete Beach. My best friend lives in St. Pete and my husband’s parents used to live there. Have you ever been to Frenchie’s on the water? They have awesome beach food! πŸ™‚

    • How fun! I have heard of Frenchie’s, but didn’t get a chance to go! Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

  9. All your pictures from your trip looked amazing! We got some snow over the weekend here – Thank goodness Spring is almost here, I’m ready for some warmer temps! πŸ™‚

    • Same here! I just want to be able to go for a walk outside without wearing gloves or a hat πŸ™‚

  10. Your pictures are great and YOU are gorgeous! Looks like a super fun trip

  11. I’ve never been to this beach, but based off this post it sounds like I need to! I haven’t been to many beaches, but we went to the dominican republic for our honeymoon, and I absolutely loved it! And haha I definitely didn’t wake up to snow this morning, thank goodness! It is supposed to be 80 degrees here today!

    • I actually never heard of the beach until our friends recommended it! I thought it would be full of spring breakers, but it was a mix!

  12. Sounds like a great trip! Not fun to return to snow though:( We got some snow on Friday but today its just cold. I am ready for some warmer weather!
